1. What is BroadTel?

BroadTel is the VoIP fragment of Broadlink, providing Internet voice services to make international calls at an affordable & competitive cost for our customers. It is a telephony service that is legal, affordable and awesome in voice quality.

2. What is VOIP telephone?

A VoIP telephone, also known as a SIP phone or a softphone, allows the user to make phone calls to any softphone, mobile or landline anywhere in the world by using voice over IP (VoIP). This way, the voice is carried through the internet instead of the traditional PSTN system.

Voice over Internet Protocol (also called IP Telephony, Internet telephony, and Digital Phone) is the routing of voice conversations over the Internet or any other IP-based network.

3. What is softphone?

A softphone is a software program that is used to make calls over the Internet using a computer, rather than a conventional telephone.
Softphone uses your internet connection and software on your computer to place calls using VOIP. Softphone is usually used with a headset connected to the sound card of the PC, Bluetooth devices and a USB phone.

BroadTel can be used anywhere with any internet connection, but for Nepal works at its optimum with Broadlink Wi-Fi internet.

7. What are the devices that I have to use for BroadTel?

These are the following thing you need to use BroadTel

An internet connection (BroadTel works best with Broadlink Wi-Fi)

Wi-Fi enabled Desktop/ cell phone and laptop

IP Phone/ softphone/mobile dialer/ATA device /USB phone

8. How do I get started?

Please follow the following steps to get started with BroadTel service.

A) For use in Laptop/Desktop

Please check whether your laptop/cell phone is connected to the internet.

Go to the link

Then click on "click here to download the dialer" to download the softphone for your laptop/desktop

Once the download is complete, then install the softphone that you have downloaded

You need to register your account in order to use BroadTel. For account registration process, Go to the page: click here

Fill up your details in the registration form and click on to "Register" to submit your form to create an account

Next, Go to the page click here and enter your Voucher number and registered email address to register your softphone.

Once all of this process is complete, you will get your login details (username and password) for the softphone via SMS in your registered mobile number and e-mail address.

Once you get the login details for softphone, you can simple enter the details to login to the dialer

After you are logged in, recharge your account with the same BroadTel card that you have used for the registration.

For the recharge process, please see the reverse side of the BroadTel card

Once your account is activated after recharge, you can start making international calls.

B) For IP Phone

Connect your IP phone to the internet with a cable from your router/switch/hub to the LAN port of the IP phone

You need to register your account in order to use BroadTel. For account registration process, Go to the page: click here

Fill up your details in the registration form and click on to "Register" to submit your form to create an account

Next, Go to the page click here and fill in the serial number of your IP Phone and registered email address to register your IP phone.

Once all of this process is complete, you will get your login details (username and password) for the IP phone via SMS in your registered mobile number and e-mail address.

You will also receive a free voucher worth Rupees 100

Next, you need to recharge your IP phone with the free Rupees 100 voucher provided by Broadlink

For next recharge, you will need to buy BroadTel recharge cards of your choice of denomination and follow the recharge process.

C) Wi-Fi enabled Mobile

Connect your Mobile phone to the internet

Go to the page : click here

Then click on the “download” for your specified Mobile phone

Once the download is complete, then install the application you have downloaded

Next, please call out Toll free number @ 16600121000 to register and create your BroadTel account.

After successful registration, you will get your login details (username and password) for the Mobile dialer via SMS in your registered mobile number and e-mail address.

Once you get the login details for your Mobile dialer, you can simply enter the details to login to the dialer

After you are logged in, recharge your account with the same BroadTel card that you have used for the registration.

For the recharge process, please see the reverse side of the BroadTel card

Once your account is activated after recharge, you can start making international calls.

9. Where do I buy BroadTel cards?

10. What are the cards available for BroadTel?

The BroadTel calling cards are available in denominations of Rupees 250, 500, 1000, 2000, 5000.

14. How can I recharge BroadTel?

BroadTel account can be recharged in 2 ways.

15. Can I use BroadTel service with a SIP device or phone?

Yes, you can. Broadlink supplies IP Phones and USB Phones. These devices enable you to make calls like a regular telephone set, eliminating the need for a computer.

16. What is the billing pulse?

All the calls made from BroadTel service will be billed as per minutes basis.

17. Are there any additional charges?

No, there are no additional charges whatsoever. No call connection charges, no surcharges and no hidden costs!

18. How can I view the balance on my account?

Please follow these steps below to view the balance in your account.

19. Is it possible to make calls within Nepal using BroadTel calling card?

No, calls cannot be made within Nepal through BroadTel calling card.

20. Is it possible to make calls to Nepal from overseas using BroadTel calling card?

No, Calls cannot be made to Nepal from overseas through BroadTel calling card. However, BroadTel calling card enables its users to make calls anywhere else except Nepal.

21. Does BroadTel provide free calls on its network?

Yes, you can make unlimited free calls on Broadtel network within Broadtel accounts.

Directly from your Softphone/IP phone and Mobile Dialer
Scratch your BroadTel card for the Voucher No.

Next, Dial 000# from your Softphone/ IP phone and Mobile dialer

Put in your Voucher No. from your BroadTel card

Once this process is complete, your account will be successfully recharged.

Via Website
Go to the page: http://broadtel.broadlink.com.np/

Then, enter your login details provided by SMS and e-mail and click on "login".

Then, go to "Add Payment" tab on the top right hand side panel.

Next, enter your Voucher no. from your BroadTel card

Click on "Add Payment"

Once this process is complete, your account will be successfully recharged.

Go to page http://broadtel.broadlink.com.np/

Then, enter your login details provided by SMS and e-mail and click on "login"

Once this process is complete, you will see a page displaying your call details and remaining balance.
